Warburton Collects ECAC Weekly Award

Paxton, Mass. – Anna Maria College junior forward Trafficia Warburton (Worcester, Mass.) was chosen the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Co-Player of the Week ending Dec. 15, the organization announced.

Earlier this week, Warburton was named both the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Week and the Worcester Area College Basketball Association women's basketball player of the week.

Warburton had a terrific week for the AMCATS who posted a 2-1 record. The junior averaged 24 points, 11.7 rebounds, 4 steals and two assists over the seven day span. On the road at Wheelock College the forward poured in 26 points, grabbed 13 boards and made 4 steals in the 72-55 victory. Versus WPI, Warburton was one rebound shy of a double-double, handling 9 caroms and contributing a team-high 17 points. In the week's final match-up vs. Elms College, Warburton posted a match-high 29 points and 13 rebounds in a 72-49 whitewashing for the AMCATS fifth win of the season

Warburton, who collected her second GNAC weekly award, is averaging 18.4 points and 11.0 rebounds to rank fourth in the conference in scoring and second in rebounding.

The AMCATS return to play after the holiday on Dec. 29 when they travel to Lycoming College for the Hoops for Hounds Tournament.
