Softball Bested by Dean

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Softball team fell this afternoon to Dean college in a single game with a final score of 21-8. Game two was not continued due to the rain.

Records: Dean 6-17, AMC 0-9.

Makenzie Souza was perfect from the plate for the Bulldogs finishing 3-for-3 with being tied for the team high in runs batted in with three. Karissa Menzinger also had the team high of three RBI's and found green three times in the contest of her four at bats.

Victoria Falco (Marlborough, Mass.) had a game high four RBI's while going 2-for-3, including a homerun. Michelle Cilley (Dracut, Mass.) also went yard today in the second inning with a solo shot giving her, her only hit of the afternoon. Allison Sholds (Methuen, Mass.) and Mackenzie Morin (North Smithfield, RI) both added one run apiece for the AMCATS on their two his out of the three at bats.

Pitching

Shelby Smith got the win for the Bulldogs after pitching five innings allowing eleven hits and eight earned runs. She will now be 4-4 on the season.

Victoria Falco was tagged with the loss after an inning of work, she gave up six hits and three earned runs. Falco will drop to 0-5 on the season.

The AMCATS will be back on the field this Thursday against Northern Vermont- Lyndon at home with first pitch coming at 2:00 PM.
