PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Saturday afternoon, the AMCATS opened their conference schedule against the Wildcats in Providence. Unfortunately for the 'Cats, they were riding a 0-8 start to the season and hadn't stepped on the field in a competitive game in two weeks after returning from Florida and having their only games against Elms college, at home, cancelled due to a snow covered field. They lost both of their conference openers to the pre-season number one team in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, 10-1 and 16-0.

JWU controlled the game the whole way through, scoring their first runs in the top of the first inning, going up 4-0 on a Corona triple that scored two runs and then the Rufo home run, scoring two more.

In the second, the Wildcats added another run on a Gavin double scoring Duperry to give the hosts a 5-0 lead, acting as the away team in this game.

In the third inning, Johnson & Wales added two more runs to give them a 7-0 lead when Corona scored on an error and Kayla McKinnon scored on a Semanchik single back up the middle.

The Wildcats would add another run in the fourth when Corona singled to score Kristin Frost giving their team an 8-0 lead.

Finally, in the bottom of the fifth, the AMCATS would strike for a run on a Jacqueline Lapierre grounded that ended up being a fielder's choice, scoring Magierowski.

Down 8-1, the AMCATS gave up two more runs in the bottom of the sixth on a Duperry homer scoring herself and Semanchik, ending the game after six on run rule, 10-1 in favor of the Wildcats.

Game 2

In game two, the 'Cats were only able to get three runners in the game, two by way of hits. Amanda Lemire and Victoria Falco each singled, accounting for the hits, and freshman Yolani Doddy walked in a pinch hit appearance.
