GAME ONE

The Mustangs took an 11-1 mercy rule victory in game one of the night. Lucianna Medici and Kayla Weston both went two for three with two RBIs to lead the visitors to victory. Emma Morton went one for two with two RBIs and Michele MacDonald went one for four with two RBIs. Nicole Handzel earned the win on the mound. She pitched all five innings and only gave up one hit and one run while striking out five batters.

The Mustangs started things up with two runs in the top of the first inning and added three more in the top of the second inning following three AMCAT fielding errors. A five run third inning would extend the visitors lead to 10-0. Anna Maria hopped on the board in the bottom of the inning. Kayla Magierowski (Spencer, Mass.) got on base with a single to the pitcher and advanced to third on a Mustang passed ball to put herself in scoring position. Jacqueline Lapierre (Worcester, Mass.) earned the RBI as she sent a sacrifice fly ball to center field that scored Magierowski (10-1). Mount Ida came together for one more run in the top of the fourth inning and that would end scoring for game one as they took the ultimate 11-1 victory in five innings.

GAME TWO

The Mustangs combined for an 11 run first inning from six hits and three AMCAT errors. Hayley Microulis notched four RBIs in the first inning with a double to center field and a double to left field for two RBIs each. Lucianna Medici doubled to left center for two RBIs and Kristina Stella homered to left center for two more runs batted in.

Mount Ida tallied two more runs in the top of the third to extend their lead to 13-0. Anna Maria rallied two hits in the bottom of the fourth inning but could not convert any into runs. Two more runs in the bottom of the fifth would give Mount Ida the ultimate 15-0 victory.
