Providence, R.I. – The Anna Maria College softball team dropped in both games to the Wildcats of Johnson and Wales University on Saturday, March 25th in Providence, R.I.
The losses drop the AMCATS to 2-8 on the season while the Wildcats improve to 9-4.
GAME ONE
Scoring began early in the first inning for the Wildcats as they brought in three quick runs(3-0). AMCATS struggled to get on the board while still putting up a fight.
During the bottom of the fourth, the Wildcats took in six more runs. Emily Schaper homered and brought in one RBI and following, Diana Amendolara homered out to left bringing in three RBIs. This would end scoring for both teams as the Wildcats took the ultimate 11-0 victory.
Leading hitter for the Wildcats was Kristin Frost going three-for-three at the plate and notching three RBI's. Following her was Meghan Gavin going two-for-four at the plate with two RBI's.
Alexis Romano(Lowell, Mass.) pitched a complete game giving up twelve hits and eleven runs over four innings. She walked just three batters and recorded one strikeout.
GAME TWO
Anna Maria came back for round two but couldn't notch a run. The Wildcats earned one run in the bottom of the first off of Brenna DuPerry's homer out to left. In the third inning, the Wildcats were able to get 9 runs in and one more in the fourth. This would end scoring for the game as the Wildcats took the 15-0 victory.
Jacqueline Lapierre(Worcester, Mass.) led the AMCATS going one-for-two at the plate.
Alex Fantasia lead the Wildcats going three-for-three at the plate with two RBI's. Emily Gorecki, Brenne DuPerry, and Diana Amendolara all went two-for-three at the plate.
Rebecca Raphael(Methuen, Mass.) pitched a total of three innings giving up twelve hits and fifteen runs (thirteen earned). She walked just four batters and recorded one strikeout. Romano stepped in for the relief in the last inning giving up just two hits and a strikeout.

The AMCATS play a double-header at Clark University at 3 p.m and 5 p.m on Tuesday, March 28th.
