Cross Country Races at Golden Bear Invitational
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.—The Anna Maria College cross country teams competed at the Golden Bear Invitational on the campus of Western New England University on Saturday morning. The women's team placed 12th out of 15 teams, while the men's team did not record a team score.
WOMEN'S RACE
Junior Maureen Moore (Newbury, Mass.) led the AMCAT women with a time of 22:12. She was followed by Victoria Fabiano (Billerica, Mass.) with a time of 24:40 and Shannon Latour (Millbury, Mass.) at 26:12.
Westfield State claimed the women's victory with 32 points and had four of the top 10 finishers on their roster. Gordon took second place, while Worcester State finished in third.
MEN'S RACE
Casey Quirk and Daniel Jodrey (Paxton, Mass.) finished in 101st and 102nd with a 15-second difference. Quirk took Anna Maria's top spot with a time of 34:20, while Jodrey was 15 seconds back at 34:35.
Also finishing for the AMCAT men was Teddy Duchesne (West Barnstable, Mass.) with a time of 36:30.
Westfield State took the men's team award for a full sweep in the day. Southern Vermont finished in second, followed by Gordon in third. Gordon's Damon Kilgore was the top men's finisher.
WHAT'S NEXT
Both teams travel to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Invitational on Saturday, October 31st, where Moore will look to improve upon her 10th place finish and All-Conference slot from a season ago.
