- The Lead: Johnson & Wales University improved to 10-0-1 in its last 11 contests with a 5-0 victory over Anna Maria College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's soccer game at the Scotts Mirale-Gro Athletic Complex. The Wildcats, ranked 10th regionally in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, led just 1-0 at the half before tacking on four second-half goals.

How It Happened:

-Johnson & Wales started the scoring in the 32nd minute. Junior Andrew Vecere (Wayne, N.J.) served up a nearly perfect corner kick that Yohann Assouramou (Cotonou, Benin) headed into the goal.

-The second goal came eight minutes into the second half when Teagan Drake (Waterbury, Vt.) took the pass from Jason Cruz (Providence, RI) and popped it over the Anna Maria goalkeeper. Drake scored his second goal of the game – sixth of the season - four minutes later when he put back the rebound of his own missed shot.

-Riley McNicholas (Hopkinton, NH) scored his first goal of the season in the 63rd minute when Assouramou flipped him the ball and McNicholas headed it in from three yards out.

The JWU defense was stifling, allowing the AMCATS to only get one shot on goal. The Wildcats had a 23-3 advantage in overall shots. AMC goalkeeper Mark Robinshaw (Ashford, Conn.) made eight saves.
