Wildcats Out-Scratch AMCATS, 7-0

Paxton, MA – The Johnson & Wales Wildcats capitalized on their offensive opportunities, as they blanked the Anna Maria AMCATS by a final score of 7-0. 

The loss drops the AMCATS record to 2-7-1 (0-5-1 GNAC), while the Wildcats improve to 6-3-1(4-1-0 GNAC ) on the season.

Wildcats sophomore goalie Ryan Dzierawski (Oakland, MI) notched his first win of the season, stopping one shot on goal.  Freshman Scott Webster (Ocala, FL) got the start in net for the AMCATS, making eight saves in the first half of play.   AMCATS freshman Andrew Dahl (Marlton, NJ) played in net for the second half, and made three saves. 

The Wildcats scored five minutes into the contest, as freshman Nick Liguori (Union Beach, NJ) put home his first goal of the season on a feed from sophomore O'kyle Corridon (Selden, NY).  Five minutes later, Wildcats sophomore Ray Durski (Monroe, NJ) netted a corner-kick feed from freshman Drew Lightfoot (Philadelphia, PA) to extend their lead to two.  AMCATS goalie Andrew Dahl kept the game close throughout the first half, but the Wildcats offense exploded for five second half goals. 

Nick Liguori had two goals on the afternoon, and freshman teammate Greg Kerns (Keyser, WV) scored his first two goals of the season.  O'kyle Corridon and Drew Lightfoot each had two assists on the day for the Wildcats. 

The AMCATS look to bounce back when they return to action on Wednesday, October 3rd, as they travel to play the Regis College Pride at 4:00 PM.
