Lambert Chosen to GNAC All-Conference Sportsmanship Team

PAXTON, Mass. – Anna Maria College freshman midfielder A.J. Lambert (Charlton, Mass.) has been chosen to the GNAC All-Conference Sportsmanship Team.

Lambert, a transfer student from St. Leo University in St. Leo, Florida, appeared in all 20 games (14 starts) for the AMCATS in his rookie season and led the team in assists with four. He also scored a goal in a 5-2 home victory over Massachusetts Maritime Academy on September 29.

"A.J. Lambert is a tremendous athlete and an absolute fighter. On top of that, he is a fantastic human being," said AMCATS Head Coach Zach Rocha. "A.J. is not the biggest player on the field in terms of size and because of that, he gets knocked around. At the same time, he certainly does not back down from the very physical nature of the sport at this level. And he always plays with respect to the rules of the game. Time and again, opposing coaches spoke with me about A.J. and cited him as an example of how hard they wished all their players played. We feel very lucky to have A.J. in our program."

Lambert attended nearby Bay Path High School before enrolling at St. Leo University.
