East Providence, R.I. – The Johnson & Wales University men's soccer squad posted a 2-0 victory over Anna Maria in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at Pierce Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Johnson & Wales controlled the action early on and got on the scoreboard when freshman Dustin Hughes (Holden, Mass.) fed a pass fellow rookie Ray Durski (Monroe, N.J.) six yards from the goal.  Durski then buried a shot into the far corner of the net to give the Wildcats the 1-0 lead just 8:44 into the contest.  JWU took the one goal lead into halftime despite Anna Maria holding a 5-2 advantage in shots for the half.

The Wildcats struck again in the early stages of the second half when senior Adam Shafer (Corning, N.Y.) led a breakaway down the middle of the field and found freshman O'Kyle Corridon (Selden, N.Y.).  Corridon then slid a pass to Hughes who struck a shot into the top corner to give JWU the 2-0 lead at the 49:31 mark.
