Men's Soccer Falls to Lasell, 5-3

NEWTON, MA- Lasell College men's soccer delivered a 5-3 win over Anna Maria on Thursday afternoon at Grellier Field, led by a six point outing by Adam Luciano (Fairfield, CT). The Lasers record stands at 9-3-3 overall and 5-2-2 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play after the contest while the AMCATS tumble to 3-14-1, and 1-7 in the league.

Lasell scored all five of their goals in the first 66:30 of play, while the AMCATS produced all their marks in the final eleven. Luciano handed off an assist to Mike Skelton (Conway, NH) for the first goal of the day just 5:17 into play. Luciano then upped the Lasers' edge 13 minutes later, streaking down the field for an unassisted tally.
Before halftime, Lasell scored once more to bring a 3-0 lead into the break. This time, Luciano crossed the ball to a trailing Cedric Dybaud (Quincy, MA) to notch the final goal of the period.
Dan Gleason (Weymouth, MA) and Isaac Soares (Somerset, MA) teamed up for the Lasers first goal of the second period, at 64:36, and two minutes later, Luciano capped Lasell's 5-0 run with a ball handed off from Skelton.
 

Lasell's starting goalkeeper Aren Moorman (Somerset, NJ) made four stops in 68 minutes of play, and earned the win. Alex Serrazina (Ludlow, MA) stepped in for his collegiate debut in the final twenty minutes of the game, making three stops.

 For Anna Maria, Wilson Espino scored unassisted, twice, in a two minute span between the 79th and 81st minutes. Justin Hyland added the final goal of the game, at 87:48. Mike Dandurand was hit with the loss in net, making eight stops.
 

Lasell faces conference leader Albertus Magnus on Saturday in their final regular season contest. The Lasers will travel to the Falcons home field for a 3:15 p.m. game.
