Saints Blank AMCATS

PAXTON, Mass. (10.22.11) – Sophomore Allan Parrelli (Reading, Mass.) had two goals as the Emmanuel College men's soccer team scored a 3-0 victory over Anna Maria College at AMCAT Field on Saturday afternoon. The Saints improve to 10-5-4 (5-5 GNAC) with the win, while the AMCATS fall to 3-15-1 (1-9 GNAC) on the year.

The match remained scoreless in the first half, Saints senior midfielder Jeremy Scanlon (Belmont, Mass.) scored just two minutes into the second half with an unassisted strike.

Emmanuel made it a 2-0 game on a give-and-go goal down the right wing between Allan Parrelli and James Carol (Guilford, Conn.). Parrelli then scored a late insurance goal for the 3-0 victory.

Junior Justin Hyland (Leicester, Mass.), Wilson Espino (Rutland, Mass.) and Andres Huertas (Great Barrington, Mass.) led the AMCATS in shots, while goaltender Mike Dandurand (Warwick, R.I.) made six saves in net for AMC.

Emmanuel goalkeeper Patrick Froass (Oneida, NY) made three saves while picking up the shutout.
