Men's Lacrosse Locks in the Fifth Seed with Win Over Albertus

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Men's Lacrosse team with head into the playoffs as the fifth seed after they were able to defeat Albertus Magnus in conference action this evening on AMCAT Field 18-4.

 

Records: AMC 2-11, 1-7 GNAC, ANM 6-11, 3-5 GNAC.

 

The Falcons were able to strike first with a James May goal; he would later on score a second after taking ten shots. Christopher Magnifico would be responsible for the other two AMC goals, with him taking nine total shots.

 

The AMCATS were able to find their stride after being down early off of a five goal and one assist performance by freshmen Eric Glover (Baldwinville, Mass.). Kory Forier (Oxford, Mass.) led all in total points with seven, four of which came by the way of goals with the last three being assists. Brandon Pavoni (Granby, Mass.) continued his impressive season with a four spot on fifteen shots. Senior Ryan Rockwal (Chicopee, Mass.) made his last game on AMCAT Field one of his best as he was also able to strike home three more times for the 'CATS on nine shots.

 

Goalies

 

Senior Goalie Paul Schwarz (Staten Island, NY) will get his fourth win on the season with a nine save performance on just thirteen shots faced.

 

John Brunetti will suffer the loss and fall to 2-10 on the season after allowing fourteen goals and making eighteen saves.

Anna Maria will be back on the field this Saturday with playoff action, as they will travel to Rivier with play set to begin at 7 PM.
