2018 Men’s Lacrosse Schedule Announced
PAXTON, Mass – Featuring matchups against Bard College, Benedictine University, from Illinois, along with their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) slate, the 2018 AMC men's lacrosse schedule was announced earlier this month.
Head coach Nate Mayo enters his fifth season at the helm for the AMCATS and will lead the men in their 2018 campaign that will be headlined by a ten-game GNAC schedule.
"We are looking forward to a good season here at AMC," Coach Mayo said, "We are coming off a tough year but, with 12 new players coming in and a number of returners we are preparing for a successful 2018 campaign that has a number of challenges for us out of conference to go along with the usual suspects in conference play. We know that it will take hard work to get to where we want to be as a program with the schedule that we have but the coaching staff and the players are prepared to work hard and show the AMC community and the GNAC what we are capable of." Added Mayo.
The 'Cats will open the season with a non-conference matchup against Mitchell college on the road on February 21st at 4pm. Their first home contest will be three days after that against Bard college at 1pm.
The rest of the non-conference schedule includes four more home games against regional opponent Nichols, along with matchups against Lyndon State, Easter Connecticut and Benedictine University. Their only other away non-conference game will be played against Wentworth on March 19th in Boston, Mass.
The AMCATS will open their GNAC schedule against Johnson & Wales on March 28th at 5pm. The remaining nine games on their schedule will be played in conference with Lasell on the 31st of March and the rest coming in the month of April with home games against Rivier on the 11th and Saint Joseph's of Maine on the 18th. Their final game in conference and of the regular season will take place against Norwich, in Northfield, Vermont on the 25th of April at 4pm.
