Giarratano Tabbed GNAC Goalie of the Week
Paxton, MA – Anna Maria College men's lacrosse netminder Joshua Giarratano (Warwick, RI) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The freshman backstop picked up his first collegiate win, an 8-6 victory over Husson University. Giarratano made eight saves for the AMCATS, two saves in each of the first two periods and four total in the second half. The AMCATS even their record at 1-1.
Joining Giarratano in conference honors was teammate Jason Baker (Billerica, MA). The senior midfielder was named to the weekly GNAC Honor Roll for his play in the AMCATS road victory.
Anna Maria returns to action on Tuesday afternoon when they host Massachusetts Maritime Academy in home opener for the 'Cats and the season opener for the Buccaneers. Game time is slated for 5:30 pm.
