Men's Hockey Bested by Neumann

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Men's Ice Hockey Team fell short in today's non-conference match up against Neumann University 6-1 in Aston Pennsylvania.

How it Happened

The knights (1-12-2) were able to score in bunches this evening as they put up three goals in the first period, and added three more in the third. Thomas Mansbridge, Tommy Dougherty, and Barry Kneedler were able to capitalize in the first, to give Neumann a 3-0 lead going into the second period.

The AMCATS (4-11-4) held Neumann scoreless in the second period and were able to get themselves on the board 12:42 into the second period. The lone Anna Maria goal came off the stick of Kade McCartin (North Branford, Conn.) for his first goals of the season. Kade was assisted by Aleksandr Makarov (Indian Trail, NC) and Gavin Proeh (Highland Park, IL) to cut the deficit to just 2 with a 3-1 score going into the third.

The third was all Neumann again as they added on three more scores from Chris Caldwell, Joe Mitchell, and Jc Moritz. Those would be the final goals of the contests to give the Knights a 6-1 victory over the AMCATS. Penalties were a huge factor in today's match up, with three of Neumann's goals coming on power plays.
