Men's Hockey Shutout by New England College

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Men's Hockey Team was defeated this evening in non-conference action 3-0 by New England College in Henniker N.H.

 

The first two periods for the Pilgrims (9-3-2) and the AMCATS (4-10-4) was very quiet as neither team was able to find the back of the net.

 

In the third period NEC was able to beat the Anna Maria goaltender three times for the only scores in the contest. Nikita Pintusov had two out of the three for the Grims, the first coming 30 seconds in, with the second just two minutes later. Bernie McGovern also found the back of the net 3 minutes in splitting up the two goals by Pintusov.

 

The AMCATS managed just 21 shots on goal, with Gavin Proeh (Highland Park, IL) leading the way with 3. Brendan Boncore (Oakland, MI) was tagged with the loss as he falls to 2-5-2 on the season. Boncore allowed just the 3 goals, while racking up 38 saves.

The AMCATS will be back on the ice this Friday as they travel to play Neumann, with action starting at 7 PM.
