UTICA, NY: The Anna Maria Men's Basketball team fell this afternoon in non-conference action to Utica College 102-72.  

 THE BASICS:

- Date: 12/29/2019

Score: Utica 102, Anna Maria 72

Records: Utica (7-2), Anna Maria (3-8)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  From the opening tip Utica took the lead and held onto it. The game opened up with both teams going basket for basket.

-  The Pioneers took over in the last eight minutes of the first half, extending their lead to 21 points. The AMCATS were able to shrink it to 19 before the half.  

-  The Second half was all Utica as they were able to extend their lead all the way to 30 points after Brett Talbert finished with a game high of 21 for the pioneers.

- For the AMCATS Bobby Perette (Marshfield, MA) ended with a team high 18 points.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Talbert had 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals.

-  Kobe Lufkin had another 18 points for Utica to go along with 4 assists.

-  Perette ended with 18 points, 1 assist, and 1 steal.

- Mike Rapoza (Charlton, MA) added another double-double to his season with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

- Anna Maria returns to action tomorrow as they close out the Utica Tournament against RPI at 1:00 PM.
