Men's Basketball Rally Falls Short to Monks

PAXTON, Mass: 99-90 was the final from the Fuller Center as the Anna Maria Men's Basketball Team fell to conference opponent Saint Joseph's College (Me.) early this afternoon.

 

The Monks (15-4, 5-1 GNAC) continue to play at a high level as they snag their fifth win in conference play this season. SJC shot the ball at a very high rate throughout the contest going 62.7% from the field and 50% from behind the ark. Jack Casale played a key role in the victory finishing with a Double-Double of 30 points and 11 rebounds. Darian Berry also put up big numbers as he scored a game high 31 points. Between the two, they combined for over half of the Monks Points.

 

The AMCATS (6-13, 2-4 GNAC) were able to trade buckets with St. Joe's, and got the score within 5 with 6 minutes left to play. Momentum was in the 'Cats favor until a questionable call was made that turned the tide. Mike Rapoza (Charlton, Mass.) went off for 12 points and 10 rebounds in the second half alone, he ended with 20 points and 15 rebounds. While Bobby Perette (Marshfield, Mass.) continues to play at a high level, and be the main 3-point threat for AMC. Perette finished the game with 16 points going 5-of-9 from the floor and 3-of-7 from beyond the ark. Sidney Limage (Randolph, Mass.) came up just short of another Double-Double with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Kennedy Minix-Rogers (Smyrna, GA) completed the contest with a game high 6 assists to go along with his 13 points.
