Men's Basketball Rally Falls Short to Falcons

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Men's basketball team dropped their season and home opener this evening in non-conference action to Albertus Magnus 80-72, in the Fuller Center.

 

Falcons (1-0) Jahmerikah Green-Younger topped all scorers in the contest with his 20 point performance with 12 coming in the first half. He was closely followed by Ryan Pittman who put up 19 points of his own to accompany his 6 steals, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds.   

 

The AMCATS (0-1) fought all night matching Albertus and tying the game four times throughout the contest, and only being outscored by one point in the second half. Anna Maria put together a great shooting performance from beyond the 3-point line, going 12-26 at 46% overall, but shot 50% (8-16) in the second half. 5 of which came from Junior Bobby Perette (Marshfield, Mass.), who was 50% from behind the arc, which helped him get to his team high 18 points. Also, helping out from off the bench was Anthony Buckley (Haverhill, Mass.) who was 4 of 6 from downtown and finished the game with 14 points. Mike Rapoza (Charlton, Mass.) didn't disappoint as he put up another double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. AMCAT Sydney Limage (Randolph, Mass.) led all rebounders with 16 total rebounds in the game, with 6 coming off the offensive glass. Chris Contento (Marshfield, Mass.) also led all players in assists, as he was able to reach double digits with 10.
