Ripoza and Limage Post Double-Doubles; Clark Downs Anna Maria

WORCESTER, Mass – The Men's basketball team traveled to Worcester to take on the Clark University on Tuesday evening where the fell to the Cougars in a close one 79-71.

For Anna Maria it was sophomore forward Mike Rapoza (Charlton, Mass) leading all AMCAT scorers with 23 points. He added 10 rebounds to record his third double-double of the season. Junior forward Sidney Limage (Randolph, Mass), a rookie transfer, scored his team 20 points and also added 10 boards to grab his first double-double of the year. Limage shot ten-of-twelve from the field on the night. Senior guard Liam Pickett (Oxford, Mass) and senior forward Kenneth Graham (West Haven, Conn) each reached double digits with 11 and 10 respectively.

The Cougars junior forward Luca McCormick (Fort Lauderdale, Fla) led all scorers for the night with 31 points shooting nine-of-20 from the field and nine-of-10 from the free throw line. He added 13 boards to his stat line. Junior forward Adam Converse (Woodstock, Conn) came off the bench for Clark and scored 13 in 25 minutes on the floor.

Things started off hot for the AMCATS as they jumped out to an 18-3 lead six minutes in to the contest. Shooting 55.9% from the field in the first half Anna Maria was able to go in to the break up six, 43-37. For the first ten minutes of the second half AMC continued to lead the Cougars until Clark hit a three to take their first lead with 10:12 remaining. After that the home team controlled the rest of the game extending their lead to four then six by the 8:30 mark in the half. The 'Cats were able to pull back with in one as Limage and Rapoza hit big shots but it wasn't enough as McCormick scored five in the closing minutes for the Cougars extending their lead to eight and closing out the contest at 79-71. With the result AMC falls to .500 on the year and take their 2-2 record in to the Thanksgiving break.

Next up for the AMCATS will be Regis College on the road at 6pm on Tuesday, November 28th to open GNAC play.
