Rapoza Named GNAC Rookie of the Week for Fourth Time

PAXTON, Mass.-- Freshman Mike Rapoza (Charlton, Mass.) of the Anna Maria College men's basketball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is Rapoza's fourth time receiving Rookie of the Week honors this season.

Rapoza averaged 18.5 points and 15.0 rebounds in an 0-2 week for the AMCATS. Garnering his third consecutive Rookie of the Week honor, the big man had 21 points and 12 boards in 39 minutes against Emmanuel before producing 16 points and 18 rebounds at Suffolk.

The rookie leads the AMCATS this season averaging 17.4 points per game and 13.2 rebounds per game. He notched a career high 24 points in the AMCATS first win of the season over Mount Ida on Dec. 1st. Rapoza has recorded an impressive 14 double-doubles this season.

The AMCATS travel to Lasell on Wednesday, Feb. 1 for a GNAC contest at 7:00 p.m.
