Field Hockey Downed by Lasers

PAXTON MASS:   Women's field hockey would fall Saturday morning to conference opponent Lasell College 4-1 at AMCATS Field. 

 

Lasell College (9-4, 4-0 GNAC), Anna Maria College (4-6, 1-2 GNAC)

 

First Half:

 

It was a very well balanced first half as both teams were able to get quality looks. Anna Maria was unable to take any shots with the opportunities that they had while Lasell College was able to put three out of there ten shots into the back of the net. They were led by Calin Flannery, Riley Musial and Megan Horrigan who all had one goal. The three of them have combined for 28 goals on the season.   

 

Second Half:

 

It wouldn't take long into the second half when the AMCATS got their first shot of the day and it would find its way home. In the 39th minute of the game, Junior Allyson Shaw (Holden, Mass) would find Lauren Lapierre (Worcester, Mass) for her fourth goal on the season.  This would be the only goal that the AMCATS would be able to score. Lasell College would answer right back in the 53rd minute where Cailin Flannery would score on a corner for her 15th goal of the season and second of the game.

Cassie Micklesavage (Pottstown, Penn):  0 Goals Allowed, 0 Saves

 

Lasell:  Sofia Rodriguez:  1 Goal Allowed, 1 Saves, (5-1)

 

Sydney Pignone: 0 Goals Allowed, 2 Saves

 

Up Next:

 

Lasell College will travel to Clark University on October 9th to play at 4PM.

 

AMCATS will host Fitchburg State in non-conference action at 7PM on October 11th on AMCATS Field.
