AMCATS Top Becker in 5-0 Road Victory
LEICESTER, MASS.—Anna Maria College defeated Becker College 5-0 in non-conference women's field hockey action Thursday afternoon at Alumni Field. The win slides the AMCATS record to 1-1, while the Hawks fall to 0-2.
STORY LINE
First Half: Nicole Denver netted the first goal of the game and her first of the season in the 12th minute of play on a pass from teammate Kaitlyn Moran (Leicester, Mass.). At the 33:50 mark, Kylie Dalbec (Portland, Maine) put away an unassited goal to send the AMCATS into half time with the 2-0 lead.
GOALTENDERS
Senior goaltender Mary Kate Breen (Londonderry, N.H.) tallied five saves while sophomore teammate Bryanna Tobin (Deep River, Conn.) kept the shutout alive with one save on the day. For Becker, senior goaltender Gabrielle Gallo posted an impressive 12 saves in the loss, playing all 70 minutes.
The AMCATS travel to Colby-Sawyer for a 12:00 p.m. start on Saturday, September 5th. Live stats will be available for the contest. The team hosts their first home game of the season on Tuesday, September 8th at 6:00 p.m. as they take on the Lyons of Wheaton College.
