Four Field Hockey Student Athletes Named to Fall Academic All-NECC

Paxton, Mass. – Anna Maria College placed four student athletes on the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) all-academic list as announced by the organization on Wednesday.  AMC competes in the NECC as an associate member only for Field Hockey.

A total of 172 student athletes from NECC member institutions received this accolade for the 2011 fall semester.

To be eligible for the NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standings. Student athletes who competed in men's and women's cross country, field hockey, golf, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball were eligible for this recognition.

Kristen Nolan

Katie Schebel

These four outstanding athletes, along with their teammates Katelynn Ketchum, Shannon Looney and Nichole Lowe have also been nominated for the Nation Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Collegiate National Academic Squad. The 2011 squad had a combined GPA of 3.09.
