Bio

Steven Croce was named the head coach of the Anna Maria College football team on January 31, 2022.

Croce was promoted to head coach after serving as offensive coordinator for the AMCATS for four seasons, culminating in their 2021 season, with the team going 7-3 and winning the ECFC Championship and reaching the NCAA Championship Tournament for the first time in school history. Croce was voted ECFC assiststant coach of the year, leading an offense that led the conference in offense and scoring, and would finish ranked 12th in the nation in passing offense. Croce has also served as a position coach during his time as a coordinator, with two years coaching the quarterbacks, one year coaching the offensive line and finally as the running backs' coach.  

Prior to joining the Anna Maria coaching staff, Croce served as the head football coach of Coginchaug Regional High School in Durham, Connecticut for a year and a half.

Prior to Cognichaug, Croce has enjoyed 30 years of coaching football as an offensive coordinator including stops at Head Coach Dan Mulrooneys’ alma mater Holy Cross High School in Waterbury, Connecticut (1989-2007), Pomperaug Regional High School in Southbury, Connecticut (2008-2011), Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut (2012-2013), and Cheshire High School (2014).

Croce has also been a full-time firefighter for the City of Waterbury, Connecticut for 30 years. He lives in Cheshire, Connecticut with his wife of 30 years, Kelly and their five children, Michael, Kellen, Alexandra, Steven, and Abbey, his daughter-in-law, Rachel, and his grandson, C.J.
