Bio

Nick Thayer enters his fourth season at Anna Maria heading into the 2023 season. Thayer currently serves as the team's Associate Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator as well as the Academic Liaison. He was named Associate Head Coach in 2023.

Prior to joining the AMCATS, Thayer spent the previous two seasons at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. At Willamette, Thayer held the position of recruiting coordinator as well as coaching the defensive line and outside linebackers.

Prior to Willamette, Thayer served as the inside linebackers coach at Maine Maritime Academy. Thayer's coaching career began as a graduate assistant at Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana. While at AU he coached every position on defense, as well as working with the offensive line and holding the title of assistant recruiting coordinator.

Thayer received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Anderson University, as well as his Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management from Endicott College. A 2014 graduate of Endicott, he  was a member of the football program, assisting the program in winning two NEFC Conference titles and two ECAC Bowl games. Thayer arrived at Endicott after graduating from Essex High School, in Essex Junction, Vermont.
