Coach Mulrooney and Football Staff Welcome over 90 New Players to Roster

PAXTON, Mass – Head Football Coach Dan Mulrooney enters his second season at the helm of the Anna Maria College football team in 2018. He and his staff have announced that over 90 student-athletes have made a deposit to commit to the College and join the AMCAT Football program starting in August 2018.

At the beginning of camp in August the AMCATS will welcome back more than 50 players from last year's team while also adding more than 90 incoming freshmen from ten different states. Each of the six New England States will be represented with nearly 30 from Massachusetts and close to 20 student athletes from Connecticut. Outside of New England, the team will welcome student athletes from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida with New York being the most represented non-New England state with almost 15 commits.

"I am thrilled about the incoming student – athletes in the Class of 2022. Recruiting to me is simple 'Find great young men, who love to COMPETE.'" Coach Mulrooney Said. "My staff has done an incredible job targeting student – athletes who have great potential on the field and in the classroom. We have filled positional needs at every position while focusing on the line of scrimmage and playmakers." Added Mulrooney. "The New England States were our main focus. Massachusetts and Connecticut represent 50 student- athletes together in this year's class. As a whole we have over 10 states represented with emphasis on New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. This class is the next step in the right direction for the Anna Maria Football Program as we continue to grow and develop our young team." – Dan Mulrooney (Head Coach)

The AMCATS will open camp in early August. Then, their 2018 campaign begins with a matchup against WPI on AMCAT Field on August 31st at 7pm.
