Dickerson Signs with Elite Indoor Football League’s New England Bobcats

BILLERICA, Mass – Earlier this Spring, former Anna Maria College AMCAT football defensive back Charles Dickerson signed with the New England Bobcats of the Elite Indoor Football League. The team is based out of Billerica, Mass and plays their games at the Chelmsford Forum in Billerica.

While playing for the Bobcats this Spring, Dickerson will finish working towards his Business Degree at Anna Maria College and will graduate in May.

On the football field at AMC, Charles was a four-year starter in the defensive backfield. In those four years he played in 38 of a possible 40 games, playing 10 games in each of his final two years. He racked up 59 tackles in his career, his highest yearly total coming this past season when he made 20 tackles. Dickerson added four tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and five interceptions to his stat line during his career with the 'Cats. Charles is the first in his family to play football at the collegiate and now pro level.

"Coming from Baltimore, not too many people are able to make it out. I thank the lord that he allowed me to make it out and play collegiate football, pursue multiple college degrees," including a Masters of Business Degree which he will begin working towards after completion of his undergrad degree. "All of these opportunities have led me to be able to play football professionally."

For the Bobcats, Dickerson will wear number eight and play defensive back, as he did at Anna Maria College. For more information about the New England Bobcats visit their website at nebobcatsfootball.com and make sure you get out to see a former AMCAT continue his football career.
