Anna Maria Places Eight on ECFC All-Academic Team

PAXTON, Mass.— The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) announced its All-Academic team for the 2016 season this afternoon.

69 student-athletes were recognized with representatives from all eight ECFC institutions. Norwich University led the way with19 honorees.

To be eligible for the ECFC All-Academic team a student-athlete must have earned a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.3 or higher in the 2016 fall semester while minimally being a sophomore in standing with two years of participation on the football team.

Anna Maria placed eight student-athletes to the list, including three seniors: Andrew Bailey (Scotia, N.Y.), Alex Geiger (East Providence, R.I.), and Stefano Marziale (Cranston, R.I.). Bailey and Geiger are three-time ECFC All-Academic team honorees.

Junior Trevor Brown (Gardner, Mass.) earns this honor for the second year in a row. Juniors Dominic DiSandro (Cranston, R.I.) and Trai Weaver (Waterbury, Conn.) are accompanied by sophomores Francis Cole (Maspeth, N.Y.) and Paul Robitaille (Johnston, R.I.) as first-time selections.

Norwich topped the list for the second year in a row with 19 student-athletes, followed by Husson (14), Castleton (13), Anna Maria (eight), Becker (six), Gallaudet (four), Mount Ida (three), and Maritime with two.
