Football Places Six on ECFC All-Conference Teams

PAXTON, Mass.—Six members of the Anna Maria College football team earned Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) All-Conference recognition, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon. The ECFC announced its 2016 all-conference teams following a vote of the conference coaches. A total of 83 student-athletes received recognition after the completion of the regular season.

 

FIRST TEAM DEFENSE

Sophomore kicker Francis Cole (Maspeth, N.Y.) was named to the ECFC All-Conference Defense First Team as a punter this season. This marks Cole's first time being name to the ECFC First Team and the second time receiving All-Conference recognition as he was given honorable mention accolades as a freshman.

Cole, a two-year member of the team, made a great deal of impact with both his punting and kicking game this season. He punted 78 times for a total of 3,519 yards while averaging 45.1 yards. He notched his longest career punt going 77 yards on the road at Curry on Sept. 17th.

Cole was also named to the ECFC Honorable Mention Team this season as a kicker. He made one field goal from 48 yards. 

HONORABLE MENTION:

Along with Cole, Daniel Stout (Mercerville, N.j.), Kai Nero-Clark (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.), Stefano Marziale (Cranston, R.I.), Joseph D'Onofrio (Everett, Mass.) and Vincent Iaquinta (Oceanside, N.Y.) were named to the ECFC All-Conference Honorable Mention Team.

DEFENSE

Kai Nero Clark was named to the ECFC All-Conference Honorable Mention Team as a defensive lineman. He played in all ten games this season, making 19 tackles and assisting on 12 for a total of 31 tackles. Nero-Clark tallied three sacks this season including one in the season finale at Becker.

Senior linebacker, Marziale also earned Honorable Mention recognition this season. He was named to the team as a linebacker. He made 64 tackles and assisted on 36 for a total of 100 tackles this season. He made four sacks including 1.5 in the AMCATS 27-13 victory over Gallaudet.

OFFENSE

Sophomore running back, Joseph D'Onofrio earned honorable mention recognition as a return specialist this season. He made 36 kick returns for 846 yards and ran 48 yards for his longest return in the AMCATS loss at Becker on Nov. 12th. D'Onofrio also notched 25 punt returns for a total of 120 yards. His longest punt return was 18 yards against Norwich at home. He also rushed for a total of 371 yards this season averaging 37.1 yards per game and made 17 receptions for a total of 146 yards.

Iaquinta earned recognition this season as a freshman tight end. He played in all ten games, receiving 25 passes for a total of 287 yards and 28.7 yards per game. He marked his first collegiate touchdown in the AMCATS 23-13 loss at Castleton State University this season. His longest reception was a 39 yard pass at Mount Ida.

Stout, a sophomore offensive lineman for the AMCATS, appeared in seven of the ten games the AMCATS played this year.
