THE LEAD:
Anna Maria freshman hurler Joe Gemelli (Grafton, Mass.) tossed five innings of no-hit ball, combining with four other relievers to take down Dean College, 14-4, in non-league baseball action on Thursday afternoon.

Gemelli outdueled Dean starter Ben Tate (South Burlington, Vt.), who was pretty effective in his own right, going four innings and allowing just three hits and a pair of unearned runs.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The AMCATS were ahead just 2-0 heading into the fifth when they scored five more runs, those were highlighted by a three-run homerun from Jake Crevier (Ware, Mass.).

They then added three more runs in the sixth – with two of those runs coming off of the bat of Crevier, who smacked a two-run double.

Crevier was in the middle of a four-run eighth when he delivered another RBI double, giving Anna Maria a commanding 14-0 lead.

The Bulldogs did scratch four runs across in the ninth with Matt Callahan (Attleboro, Mass.) and Brian Hadden (Newburyport, Mass.) each drew bases loaded walks and then Joshua Cerretani (Peabody, Mass.).
