Baseball Defeats MCLA

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Baseball Team took down MCLA this afternoon in non-conference action at the New England Baseball Complex with a final of 10-1.

 

Records: MCLA 9-22, AMC 15-22.

 

The Trailblazers could only muster up six hits through the nine innings played and were only able to push across the one run. Jake Ferrara went 1-for-3 and had the only RBI on his single up the middle.

 

The AMCATS racked up ten hits this afternoon with Jake Crevier (Ware, Mass.) leading the way with three hits and a total of four runs batted in. Crevier was closely followed by Rookie and Player of the Week for the GNAC in Kosta Drosidis (Holden, Mass.) who also put up three hits, on a 3-for-4 day and he pushed across two more for the 'CATS. Drosidis is now just shy of forty RBI's in his freshmen campaign at thirty-seven. Jarrod Marifiote (Framingham, Mass.) picked up a hit that drove in another two runs, with him finishing the afternoon at 1-for-4.

 

Pitching

 

Colin Pipkin (Peoria, AZ) went the distance for the AMCATS, allowing only six hits and the one earned run. Pipkin was able to limit the walks to only two while punching out eight Trailblazers. He will improve to 2-5 on the season.

 

Tyler Wade will suffer the loss and fall to 0-2 on the season after one inning of work, with four hits allowed and three earned runs.
