Baseball Flown Past by Owls

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Baseball Team was defeated by Westfield State this morning in non-conference action 14-2 at NEBC in Northborough.

 

Records: Westfield 6-4, Anna Maria 8-10.

 

The Owls totaled seventeen hit in the contest of which were two big homeruns by nine whole hitter Tyler Beach. Beach was 4-for-6 on the day with six RBI's and three runs scored. Nick Martin also had his fair share of hits in the contest, going 3-for-4 with two runs batted in.

 

The AMCATS tallied seven hits in the game with three players getting multiple hits. Jackson Dobek (Natick, Mass.) was 2-for-3 and batted in one of the two AMC runs. Jake Crevier (Ware, Mass.) also went 2-for-3, with an additional one run scored. Noah Holland (Sandwich, Mass.) joined the two hit club going 2-for-3 with the last AMCAT run scored on a Kosta Drosidis (Holden, Mass.) Sac Fly to give him his 10th RBI of the week.

 

Pitching

 

John Gegetskas (1-1) got the win after six innings worth of work, giving up just five hits, two earned runs with seven strikeouts.

 

Jack Marzec (Northbridge, Mass.) was tagged with the loss (1-2) after going five innings giving up six hits and three earned runs.

The AMCATS will be back in action this Tuesday, as they will end their home stand with Nichols College. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
