Jack Marzec will be tagged with the loss putting him at an even 1-1 on the season so far. Marzec allowed 8 hits with 6 earned runs in his 3.2 innings worth of work.

How It Happened

After a scoreless first, both teams were able to put a three spot up on the board tying the game back up at three apiece. Unfortunately, for the AMCATS they wouldn't score again until the sixth inning, while the Grims would add on three more to push ahead 6-3.

In the bottom of the sixth Anna Maria put up two after a scoreless top to come within one at 5-6. Those two runs came on a couple of hits by Jackson Dobek and Noah Holland to load the bases for a run to score on a walk and a Gehring sac fly.

NEC responded right away with another two runs in the top of the seventh to push the lead back out to three with an 8-5 lead.  The Pilgrims added one more in the top of the eighth to go up 9-5 heading into the bottom of the eighth.

The 'CATS were able to only muster one more run the remainder of the game, coming on the Antonucci Homerun. While New England College closed the door with a four run top of the ninth to get the final of 13-6.
