PAXTON, Mass: 7-1 was the final from Osceola Heritage Park in Florida with the Anna Maria Baseball Team falling to Rensselaer Poly Tech Institute this evening.

Top Performers

 

The Engineers were led by Jack Vaccari and Joseph Curci who both had the game high in RBI's with two. They also both went 2-for5 in the game. Jake Defayette had the game high in hits with him finishing 3-for-5.

 

Ryan Yerby finished his day after 4 innings allowing only 2 hits and tallying 5 strikeouts.

Chris Grome pitched the last 4 innings to get the save, giving up 5 hits with 1 earned and 9 strikeouts.

 

For the AMCATS Jackson Dobek (Natick, Mass.) got the only RBI in the game on his second hit, bringing him to a 2-for-5 day. Nick Genatossio (Sutton, Mass.) and Jake Crevier (Ware, Mass.) also ended with two hits apiece, as both of them finishing 2-for-4.

 

Marc LeBlanc (Northbridge, Mass.) finished the game for the 'CATS with 3.2 innings with only 2 hits allowed and striking out 7.

 

How it Happened

 

RPI jumped to an early lead scoring two runs off of an error up the middle in the top of the first to go up 2-0. The Engineers were able to tack on another in the second, two more in the fourth, and a last one in the sixth.

 

The AMCATS were able to get on the board with their only run in the seventh on a Dobek single. LeBlanc was able to shut down RPI through the last four innings and keep the score 7-1.
