Twitchell and Shell Honored by GNAC

WINTHROP, Mass – Earlier today the Great Northeast Athletic Conference released their weekly awards which includes Player of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, and Rookie of the Week. Two AMCATS were honored by the league with Sophomore Adam Twitchell receiving Player of the Week and freshman Jason Shell receiving Rookie of the Week.

GNAC Player of the Week, Adam Twitchell went 6-for-10 (.600/.636/.800) in a 1-2 week with two doubles and a stolen base, collecting two hits in each of his three contests. He also posted a 3.38 ERA on the mound in two appearances, including 2.1 scoreless innings of relief against Dean to earn the victory. This is Adam's first time being named Player of the Week.

GNAC Rookie of the Week, Jason Shell posted an even 1.000 OPS in a 1-2 week, going 3-for-11 with two doubles, a homer and two RBI. Both of his doubles came in a win over Dean on Thursday before he hit a solo homer in a narrow 3-2 loss to Eastern Nazarene on Saturday. This is Shell's first time being honored by the Conference.

Twitchell, Shell and the rest of the AMCATS will be back in action this week beginning with a night game against Pine Manor College on Wednesday at 7pm.
