Coach Lindsey Garvey has been named as the new head coach of the Anna Maria Women’s Soccer Team. Coach Garvey previously held the same positions of Head coach and Senior Woman Administrator at Newbury College.

Before Coaching Lindsey was a successful student-athlete at Emmanuel College in the GNAC (Great Northeast Athletic Conference). While playing for the Saints Garvey accumulated 37 career goals with 16 assists, with multiple All-GNAC Second Team selections in her sophomore and junior seasons, and one All-GNAC Third Team selection in her senior year, where she was also named one of the teams captains.   

Lindsey brings with her a Bachelors of Arts in Management, with a Concentration in Sports Management that she received from Emmanuel College in May 2014. Coach Garvey went on to earn a Master’s of Science in Sports Leadership from Northeastern University in May 2017.

Coach’s career started with being an assistant at Lesley University in 2015, where she helped the Lynx finish with a 16-6 overall record and 9-0 in conference play. That season Lesley was able to secure a trip to the NCAA tournament after winning the NECC (New England Collegiate Conference) championship.

After Lesley, coach Garvey served as an assistant to later be the interim head coach at Wheaton College. In that year she was able to bring Wheaton to the NEWMAC (New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference) semifinals. That season the Lyons finished with four Second-Team All-NEWMAC selections, two Second-Team All-New England selections, and one Third-Team All-New England selection.  

With her success at Wheaten coach Garvey was able to secure a position as the head coach at Newbury College that she held for two seasons. In those two years, coach was able to bring her team to the NECC tournament and helped two players receive All-NECC honors. Coach Garvey was able to bring in seven first year athletes in her second season, of which scored 83% of the goals in the 2018 season.
