Bio

Bigelow will enter his ninth season in 2020-21 as head coach of the AMCAT women's basketball team. He also served two years as an Anna Maria admissions counselor before being elevated to a full-time coach prior to the start of the 2014 fall semester. In addition to his coaching duties, he serves as assistant athletics director for game management and serves as the Fuller Center supervisor.

The 2018-19 season was a memorable one, ending the regular season with a final record of 10-16 and 7-5 in conference play. That AMCATS earned the fifth seed in the GNAC Tournament, which was their best finish since joining the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).

In 2014-15, the AMCATS posted a 10-15 overall record and a 5-6 league record to qualify for their first-ever GNAC tournament appearance as the seventh-seed. It marked the first time since 2002-03 that an Anna Maria women's basketball team advanced to the postseason.

Bigelow's second season at the helm in 2013-14 season, he led the AMCATS to their winningest season in over a decade. The team surpassed the 10-win mark for just the second time since 2001-02 and finished the 2013-14 campaign with an 11-14 record.

Prior to Anna Maria, Bigelow was an assistant coach with the Anna Maria men’s basketball program under current head coach Shawn Conrad. Bigelow helped lead the 2011-12 squad to the sixth seed in the GNAC tournament and an improbable run to the championship game. The AMCAT earned an ECAC tournament bid that same year.

Before joining the Anna Maria men's basketball staff, Bigelow held the same position at Worcester State University for two years and spent five years coaching high school basketball.

Bigelow earned his Bachelor's of Arts degree in criminal justice from Anna Maria College. He now resides in Worcester with his wife Rachael.
