Bio

Joseph Brady '96 was appointed as the AMCATS Director of Athletics in July of 2019. He returns to his alma mater, where he spent five seasons as the women’s soccer coach and sports information director. He helped build the AMCATS into a conference power and regional contender. He was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Coach of the Year in 1997 as the AMCATS won their first ever CCC Tournament and won a school record 17 games. The AMCATS appeared in three CCC tournament title games and made two ECAC tournament appearances during his five years at the helm.

Brady moved on to begin his tenure at Clark in 2001 as both the women’s soccer coach and the sports information director before moving into a full-time coaching role in 2006.  In 13 seasons on the Cougar sidelines Brady led Clark to eight appearances in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament, including eight in his last nine seasons. His teams advanced to the conference semifinals on four separate occasions, and advanced to the ECAC Tournament Championship in 2005.

He mentored 13 all-conference players and five more All-New England honorees and his teams always excelled in the classroom with 56 selections to the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference team.

As the winningest head coach in Clark women’s soccer program history, Brady stepped away from coaching following the 2013 season with 89 career victories in 13 seasons at Clark and 156 overall after beginning his coaching career with 67 wins in five seasons at Anna Maria.

Brady was promoted to Associate Athletic Director at Clark in the spring of 2014 after serving as Assistant Athletic Director during the 2013-2014 academic year. In his role as Associate Athletic Director he oversaw the department's alumni endeavors, contest scheduling, intramurals, sports information, event operations, facility rentals, and served as the direct report for sports information, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s lacrosse and baseball. He also served as the liaison to information technology and as the tournament director of the Clark University High School Tournament.

On top of his commitment to college athletics, Brady also dedicates time in the club soccer world, Mass Youth Soccer and Worcester Youth Soccer. He has coached for Juventus, Fuller Hamlets, Inter Bandits, BEST FC and is currently coaching for FC Stars Worcester along with working for the Mass Youth ODP program as the ODP head goalkeeper coach  for many years and volunteers currently as a coach for Worcester Youth Soccer.

A 1996 graduate of Anna Maria with a degree in business administration with a focus on management information systems, Brady was a four-year letter winner and team captain for the AMCATS. He graduated from St. John’s High School (Shrewsbury) in 1992 and was a three-year varsity soccer player.

He resides in Worcester with his wife Melissa and their daughter Keira (11) and son John (6).
