Giard Takes over as Anna Maria College Sports Information Director
PAXTON, Mass – At the end of this week, current Anna Maria College Sports Information Director Joe Malkin will be leaving the AMCATS to take the SID position at another institution. As of Monday, September 17th, Becker College graduate and former AMC Sports Information graduate assistant, Travis Giard, will take over as Sports Information Director in a full time capacity.
"Travis takes over a department that is moving in the right direction that he can make his own and continue moving it forward." Said Joe Malkin. "His experience at Becker, work ethic, knowledge of schools and conferences and passion for sports makes him a great fit for the SID position at Anna Maria."
Travis spent his time at Becker College assisting in the sports information department under head SID Matthew Tittle and assistant SID Michael Rupp. His responsibilities included doing statistics for multiple sports, including football, volleyball, hockey and baseball. In his time as a graduate assistant at Anna Maria he was in charge of creating game programs, keeping live statistics for football and volleyball as well as managing many aspects of the AMC athletics website.
"In the short time he has been at Anna Maria Travis has shown an impressive work ethic and a passion for the sports information field. He will continue to develop our social media presence, which is critical to our recruiting success." Said Athletics Director, Serge Debari.
